We were so surprised to be able to find such an amazing coffee joint on our CA road trip! We were greeted by a very friendly barista, who then made us:
Mocha: This was completely outta control; mochas tend to be difficult, as often it is made too chocolatey, too milky, or just too much coffee. THis was the perfect blend of delicious coffee umph with an after taste of velvety hot chocolate. Seriously, it was so good we almost turned around and got another one!
Latte with almond milk: This had a light coffee feel with amazing house blend almond milk which enhances the flavor--was the almond roasted? I tasted the almonds more than the average almond milk, though only small gripe is that I was choking on bits and pieces of almond, which tends to happen with homemade nut milks. Nevertheless, it was absolutely delicious and I'd gladly have it again.
I sure wish we were closer to this coffee spot, but very happy that we were able to try it. I'm definitely looking forward to the next time we're in the area! -

GREAT coffee!
My husband and I loved camping out here to read and do work whenever we stay in SLO!
The coffee is always top-notch and the baristas are always friendly and knowledgeable. Great pastries too! Great music, good chill vibes.
Definitely is a hot spot for local college students. -

Scout Coffee has one of the best, if not best ambiances for cafes in SLO. The store is filled with tons of natural light and the predominantly white interior really brightens up the whole mood of the place. They have a small assortment of boutique goods for sale in the store, so there is a hybrid store/cafe feel. There is a ton of seating but it is quite the popular location, so seats can fill up.
Now onto their coffee. There are a ton of good cups of coffee in town, and as much as I want to rank Scout in the top 3 - I don't think it makes the cut. However, they do serve a delicious affogatto - which is an espresso shot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's probably the best way drink an espresso.
Come in here for the ambiance! Maybe you will find their coffee the best in town! -

Bright, spacious, and open loft, love the glass garage doors. What a happy place to linger in.
Got a Mocha and a Cappuccino. Both were bold yet smooth, paired with a healthy treat like Raspberry Oats Bar, is just perfection. -

Now a San Luis Obispo staple and must-visit for anyone passing through the area. I love the atmosphere in here primarily as a means to reconnect with friends or take someone cute ;) out for coffee and a pastry. The scout cookie is damn good and can usually result in a sugar spike. The cookie+ coffee combination can be deadly in it's later than 3pm. Also, would really recommend the honey tea bowl with Earl Gray and a little lavender.
There are a few baristas that I really love seeing there, one of them is this uber adorable girl named Jolette (spelling?). You'll know its her cus she'll probably try to recall your drink order from the weekend before!
If I had more money and an actual car, I would definitely be here a lot more often. This cafe is conveniently situated in a complex with sufficient eateries and grocery stores that have decent hot/salad bars. It's my go-to stop for food/drinks before a Saturday of studying at the Cal Poly library (you don't have to go to Poly to utilize their resources!)
